Cycle of Sustainable Liberation
Ready to go deeper?
Join me as we do the work of truly bringing The Cycle of Sustainable Liberation into your life.
How do you maintain your hope, your joy, stay focused, tend to yourself, and show up in the midst of literal chaos…
In the midst of all of your civil liberties and those of everyone you love being under attack?
In the midst of our basic needs being under attack?
Through the Cycle of Sustainable Liberation we learn to maintain, protect and keep intact these most important pieces of our humanity both as a daily practice and way of life and while experiencing upheaval and participating in revolution without burning out.
The end goal of all revolution is liberation. Revolution pushes us to feel like we’re fighting to survive-
Liberation focuses us on thriving in spite of that.
April’s 101 Lecture on The Cycle of Sustainable Liberation provides an introduction to this concept that allows us to do exactly that.
This accompanying 102 level Mini Course will explore each part of the cycle in depth while working with you in an intimate, supported container to do the deep, inner personal transformational work of truly bringing The Cycle into your own life.
This is the space for unpacking all your personal questions, concerns, fears, big feeling and healing in community and with loving guidance.
The workshop explained the What- now we have to work through the How…

What we’re learning
Systems will keep system-ing, oppressors will keep oppressing, there is a playbook for escalating this control over us and the playbook is being played out on us right now.
Revolution is part of the societal and collective experience as humans will always fight for their freedom and humanity against these age-old forces.
But revolution is intense and can overwhelm our nervous systems without tools, awareness and practices in place to be able to sustain ourselves while we participate in our own liberation.
This original framework of The Cycle of Sustainable Liberation is designed around the study of revolutions, liberation and the experience of humans within them. It is a concept I created to help us see a tangible set of tools we can use to hold ourselves through these experiences and understand the cycle we find ourselves going through as we embrace our own liberation.
Part of the playbook of oppression is that it relies on burning us out- and by learning, most importantly, how to live in a liberatory way and participate in revolution without burning out, we access perhaps one of our most invaluable tools to counter that playbook.
It gives us a concrete grasp on how to do this work, which can feel overwhelming, but often times feels even moreso because it seems invisible, impossible, and illusive.
Learning that there is an actual cycle we must guide ourselves through makes this process real, tangible, doable and reminds us that we too can have a playbook.
“Weeze is a one of a kind human, who happens to be an amazing educator.
I'm not even sure I have the correct language to describe the way she is able to help folks work through the learning, unlearning, and re-learning all of the things in such a safe, caring, honest way.
It's like education-therapy.”

From Revolution to Liberation
I used to refer to it as ‘The Cycle of Sustainable Revolution’.
But I believe language can cast spells and as I was reflecting on this one day, I realized in my own process I had been centering the struggle rather than the end goal of freedom.
In order to maintain liberation and our commitment to it, we have to center it in all we do.
I wanted to shift the power from the surviving to the thriving, from the fight of revolution to the end goal of the joy and ease of liberation.
So being mindful of this, I renamed the concept ‘The Cycle of Sustainable Liberation.’
The end goal of all revolution is liberation. Revolution is inherently messy, it’s the fight, it puts our focus on the resistance, on our surviving (all important things) while Liberation focuses us on the end product of our thriving.
But that doesn’t mean liberation doesn’t exist until after the revolution is over- while collective liberation is the end goal, personal acts of liberatory living in these times are tools of resistance in themselves.
What was getting lost in translation is that these are not tools or practices or a cycle we only need to use when shit is popping off- it’s an every day practice, a way of existing every day.
It is a concept that feels extra important to commit to when shit is in fact chaos, when things are feeling extra hard, in the times when the system hopes to dysregulate us as much as possible. But it is in fact the cycle that we must exist within in order to live a liberatory life, to center liberation in the way we move and think and live, to constantly be thriving and feeling fully alive in spite of the systems we live in and their ability to dull that sense.
The Cycle of Sustainable Liberation is the framework developed to help us center our own liberation and humanity in spite of the systems we live within. Yes, it will also help us navigate revolutionary times and experiences that push us into survival mode by learning the tools that allow us to uphold our humanity and our ongoing commitment to personal and collective liberation. But whether you find yourself in rough waters or more easeful times, it is the cycle we are using to constantly embrace our liberation.
From my personal experience, it is the reason i have a calm nervous system even through the last month of watching our civil liberties come under attack. Because this for me has become a practice to the point of being a reflex and just the way I live so without a thought I am able to tend to myself, know how i feel and what questions to ask.
As the great Audre Lorde says: “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
By practicing The Cycle of Sustainable Liberation, I’m gonna stay calm, enjoy the sun, enjoy that I’m able-bodied and can go to the gym, and do the things I love to do. I’m going to take time out to rest, to reset when I get dysregulated, when it all gets to me. All of that is active liberation- and I don’t let them steal that from me.
In the midst of a society that does not want you to be free, you can be practicing very liberatory things. In the midst of all muck, you can be practicing liberation in a society that’s not.
In my world that I built, I get to practice it all the time.
Through the Cycle of Sustainable Liberation, I teach you to reclaim your personal power from the oppressive forces that want you to believe you have no power. Because we absolutely do- we have the tools to achieve it, and our own playbook at our disposal.
